  • On Friday, the company announced securing $20 million from investors in Taiwan and Singapore.

Comma3 Ventures has successfully completed the initial phase of its fundraising campaign, securing $45 million in total. The Taiwan-based venture capital firm announced on Friday that it had raised $20 million from a range of prominent investors, including institutional investors, family offices, esteemed executives, and high-net-worth individuals from Taiwan and Singapore.

The company’s investment strategy, outlined on its website, reveals its focus on supporting innovative web3 entrepreneurs. As stated in a press release, the recently acquired funds will primarily be channeled into early-stage blockchain infrastructure projects. Specifically, Comma3 aims to invest in initiatives centered around layer1 and layer2 blockchains, zero-knowledge rollups, cross-chain solutions, and decentralized applications (dApps).

Composed of three general partners—Nicole Liu, Ivan Li, and Denny Yang—Comma3 brings together a team with diverse expertise. Li and Yang previously co-founded a web3 venture capital firm that specializes in projects related to the transition from web2 to web3, while Liu served as an investment manager at Jubilee Capital Management, based in Singapore.

The three general partners have already made investments in various web3 projects, including Zilliqa, Polygon, Klaytn, Thetan Arena, Highstreet, Tranchess, and Cetus.

In the new fund, Comma3 will prioritize projects capable of driving significant traffic to Web3, such as those related to decentralized finance (DeFi), gaming finance (GameFi), and creator economies. These selected projects can anticipate funding ranging from $250,000 to $1 million. The $45 million fund aims to support approximately 80-100 projects in total.

Regarding the successful fundraising efforts, Nicole Liu, General Partner at Comma3, emphasized the firm’s focus on early-stage investments. She stated, “We consider team background and previous experience to be crucial factors. Additionally, we seek out entrepreneurs who possess a deep understanding of blockchain, Web3, and how to leverage decentralized technology and token economics to transform their businesses. Our dedication lies in investing in and supporting early-stage blockchain infrastructure, including L1&L2, cross-chain, ZK, as well as DAPPs that have the potential to attract traffic to Web3, such as DeFi, GameFi, and creator economies.”
